Six Phase Current Amplifier (6x25 A)

CMA 156 Six Phase Current Amplifier

CMA 156 Six Phase Current Amplifier

The CMA 156 is a six-phase current amplifier for tests requiring

  • higher currents and/or higher power in the current path than is delivered by the
    CMC 156/256 or
  • more than 3/6 current channels (e.g., for testing three-winding differential protection)

The CMA 156 contains six independent current channels. These are arranged in two isolated groups (A, B) and can be used independently of those of the CMC 156/256. The CMA 156 is connected to the CMC by means of a control cable at the back of the units. The CMA 156 outputs are galvanically separated from the outputs of the CMC. The outputs of the CMA 156 can be switched in parallel or series to meet individual power requirements. By connecting all six current phases in parallel, for example, a power of up to 420 VA can be delivered, which allows testing of a wide range of electromechanical relays.

With a CMLIB F the available output power can be increased by a factor of 3 (210 VA at 7,5 A instead of 70 VA) for all single-phase fault loops.
